This is a very good point, and it can serve as a means start a valuable discussion on the subject of personally-adorning and socially-provided titles. I definitely agree that personally-adorned titles are more likely to be a kind of sham or false front, hooking into the ignorant and deceiving them based on immediate appearance.
That said, socially-provided titles don't always mean as much as we might hope that they do. People abuse social status, those who provide the titles aren't always discerning or exercising a sound standard of judgement in their issuance of their approval or appreciation.
In *Satanism* are titles of any value whatsoever? Is there anyone with a title that you think is worth paying attention to? Or are they all just whistling Dixie and blowing smoke?
