I work to satisfy my needs, not only the basic ones, but also a bit of pleasure, entertainment, travel etc. Sure, I also do care about the people I look after but not to the extent I would agree to work for free. I'm trying to fulfill my duties as well as I can, I'm also trying to be kind to my patients but the reasons why I work are primarily selfish. And I think it applies to other people as well.
