My question is, where on my body is a good place to inflict a wound, so that I will bleed plenty, but won't potentially hit any major veins or arteries?

A friend and I will be performing a private ceremony in which I plan to bleed on a parchment to charge the ritual, and signify my devotion. The details are not important, my decision to cut was not taken lightly, and it will be performed with conviction.

You could cut your lip and kiss the parchment - there can be a lot of conviction and emotion in a kiss.
BTW, how much blood are you talking about? In your mind, what do you picture?
