This one's a little more casual for my drinking buddies on here. And to take a break from political debates and people telling me to go fuck myself for posting about mathematics. Anyways, what works best for you when you get a hangover? I obviously know the water trick (everyone knows) but I mean the morning after.

Cheers!

Rehydrate yourself as quickly as possible either with sports drinks or Gastrolyte if you keep it in your medicine cupboard.

What works best for me, aside from the previously mentioned water hydration ritual,  is to eat a huge greasy breakfast,  with a lot of eggs and bacon,  wash it all down with a large glass of V8 juice and then curl up somewhere for the rest of the day,  and cry to anyone who is within ear shot, about how "I swear I will never ever drink again."

I definitely agree with the greasy food and sports drinks. My personal favorite is Mexican food: a big ol' breakfast burrito or, if you can get one, a California burrito washed down with a fruit punch Gatorade will do ya real good.

Also, weed helps - at least for me. Takes away the nausea and headache and helps keep the food down.

I love Coke the morning after a big night too. It doesn't re-hydrate but it scours away the dead taste in your mouth.

I find what works best is a couple aspirin and a few shots. Followed by some poweraid and sushi.

I've found that water, a shower, and some spicy ramen noodles do just the trick. Antacids work great for the nausea, and some bloody maries for the rest. The only thing is I always have this really weird and uncomfortable sore throat. It's hard to explain.

@Juice. Have you considered the possibility that you might get sleep apnoea when you are drunk?

I have thought about that, since alcohol can cause it. However, how would I know I'm snoring?

@Juice. You could possibly wake up with a sore throat. Lol! I guess just ask your partner if you have one. Or do you ever have friends sleep over. Or maybe just try sleeping on your side when you drink and see if that makes a difference...

Is it only when you drink that you get a sore throat? You don't wake up tired on a normal day?

I used to have my tongue pierced and whenever I had a couple of drinks and relaxed I would slur and speak with a lisp. Lol. It was the only thing I didn't like about the piercing. Unfortunately I took it out for a job interview and it closed up.

I'll have to ask haha.

No I occasionally get a sore throat but that's because I breathe through my mouth when I sleep (a problem I've had since I can remember.) Maybe the dehydrating effects of alcohol mixed with that causes it.

And I don't know much about piercings but that's weird.

Quote from DevillaSatania I think the tomato juice and tobasco helps, But I have a trick to prevent a hangover Lots of water It thins the alcohol so you won't be bothered to with the side affects.
I'm fully aware of the water trick. However sometimes I get too wasted and forget to drink it in the first place, lol.

@Juice. You should probably get your adnoids checked. You can buy little plastic things from the pharmacy that stick to the outside of your nose (on the bridge) and hold your nostrils open. People use them to breathe better while sleeping. I also saw some fellows in the Tour de France using them.

This is going to sound crazy, but the reason I bring it up is because it used to be like second nature to me.  Being in the military, I would always have my drinking nights before PT days (physical training).  Sure it hurts like hell to work out hungover, but I promise you after an ass kicking work out to sweat out all the alcohol, grabbing a cold bottle of water, and taking a nice hot shower while rehydrating is the fastest way I have ever recovered from a hangover.

Believe me, I know the pain of waking up with the feeling of my head in a vice but I came out of a PT morning feeling like a million bucks.

Heard this recipe from an ancient english jew:

"Last time I was sober, man I felt bad/Worst hangover that I ever had/It took six hamburgers and scotch all night/Nicotine for breakfast just to put me right"

I have tried those and they do work somewhat, but I don't think I have the diligence to put a band-aid around my nose everytime I get sloshed.

Hmm. I've never heard of that but it sounds crazy enough. Unfortunately I don't have the energy to work out even sober lol.

Stop drinking or open up a beer, and start again to keep the ball rolling.
