Okay, so a big thing about Satanism is self-reliance and not offering help to those who are weak and can't take care of themselves. But I've been thinking, if you are a satanist and it gives you happiness to help others, then go for it. It doesn't make you any less "Satanic".

I don't think anyone should be forced into or pressured into helping others. Otherwise it's disingenuous and a waste of time. Having that been said, I'm not encouraging anyone to just give. Do it if YOU want to.

I think you have it inside out. It's more like "don't expect charity, be self-reliant."

"The Satanist realizes that man, and the action and reaction of the universe, is responsible for everything, and doesn't mislead himself into thinking that someone cares. .... The Satanist, realizing that anything he gets is of his own doing, takes command of the situation ... Positive thinking and positive action add up to results."

It's "Satanist Do It Yerselves" kind of thing.

The maxim for charity is "you gotta have something to give something", in other words, you can't give what you don't have. People who are selfish and satisfied are more generous than those who are altruistic yet have nothing to give anyone else but guilt and grief.

It's all very practical.

That other people's opinions of the matter are of no particular consequence because they are normally spouted without any understanding or worthwhile reasoning to back them up is part of Satanism 101.
