How do you celebrate Xmass ??
How do you celebrate Xmass ??
I go out to breakfast and then to a theme park.
Sea World finally has enough rides to not be a waste of money, and Covid is done, so I'm doing that this year. I dont have any gift exchanges or family to see that day so it's more a chance to take advantage of things.
So do Satanists celibates Christmas? I do . I just remove the religious aspects of the holiday and focus on the gift giving and family aspects. I have kids so depriving then of a holiday all children look forward to would be unfair to them.. sure I could celebrate the equinox or some pagan holiday no other kids recognize and make them feel alienated . But that seems ridiculous and unnecessary.I don't celebrate "Christmas" period. I still regard it as a Christian holiday. I personally celebrate Yule as a way to separate myself from that. Christmas has become secularized in a sense. But it gets constantly shoved down your throat with Christmas commercials and cringy Christmas music blasting almost in any place where you're at. It's also become trashy to the point where it's now getting sexualized from your pornstars to your regular strippers. I like Yule because its outside of the mainstream. And those within the mainstream probably have a very little idea on what Yule even is. I find it interesting that your Jewish Hannakah holiday doesn't get overly commercialized like Christmas. As a matter of fact the only holiday that Iv'e seen getting overly commercialized would be "Christmas."

I remember a long time ago Zach Black made some video on his thoughts of Satanists celebrating Christmas. Instead of putting Christmas presents, you can simply put those presents for Yule instead. It doesn't really make a difference either way. I personally prefer to celebrate a Pagan holiday instead of celebrating a holiday that used to have a Christian meaning, in which I am personally against.
As far as Yule goes I plan on doing a ceremonial working by honoring the Gods on that Yule day, as a way of celebrating it.
WELLLLL Alex, Christmas was Pagan before it was ever "Christianmass." I know Christians here that will not put up a Christmas tree or have anything to do with Santa Clause image and idea because it too closely resembles its Pagan origins. Let's not forget how Christians stole the pagan tradition of the winter solstice and the sun being born anew and turned it literally into "the son being born."

The "name" of the holiday doesn't really matter at this point. It's Christmas if you participate in the economic overload for the year and if you still visit family and participate in Christmas traditions.
It's Yule if you are burning yule logs, and preparing to celebrate the solstice and the beginning of the sun's dominance. It's yule if you commemorate Odin and dance naked by a fire at the solstice. It's Yule if you let go of the year past by burning wreaths and the yule tree at the start of the new year. Alex, if you're not doing those things, but doing the things mentioned before, it's fucking Christmas no matter how you spin it or twist it. Changing the name of the holiday to fit your preference doesn't make it so.
I personally do not think we can participate in modern Christmas traditions and then turn around and say "nuh uh, it's not Christmas, it's YULE." That's bullshit. A complete copout and Christmas is what it is.
I was an evil bastard when I was a kid and would go ballistic if I didn't get my way; if anyone did the above to me there would have been hell to pay.
I spend 600$ on 50$ Amazon gift cards for family members and people important to me, and I explicitly tell them NOT to get me anything for Christmas. I do whatever I can to make that day just like any other. I have deep emotional scars from spending Christmas with my dads side of the family when I was a kid and I loathe that holiday. They are all extremely Mormon and I’ve always been the black sheep of the family and they would treat me like shit in a hardcore way. One Christmas when I was a little kid and still believed in Santa, we went up to their house in Idaho for Christmas. My grandparents told my parents that they were going to buy presents for all the kids. I sat and watched as all my cousins opened their presents and they didn’t call my name yet and less and less presents were under the tree. My mom caught on to what was going on and she rushed into the bathroom and dug into her purse for any toy she could find. She found a McDonalds toy in her purse and wrapped it with toilet paper. She brought it out to me and in front of the whole family I unwrapped my toilet paper gift and I’m sure I felt like shit seeing the rest of my family get all these nice gifts and all I got was a McDonalds toy. It’s cool though, I got back at my grandpa later in life. When I was shooting heroin, I went with my dad to go visit my grandpa when he was really old and I found a bottle of oxycodone in his medicine cabinet and I stole that shit. I was thinking of that Christmas as those pills jiggling around in my pocket and I had the last laugh knowing that my grandpa would be sitting dope sick at 94 years old.Awe this was sad to read. Sometimes family are the people who we choose to be with for the rest of our lives and not by blood. But I feel like if I keep the hate alive for someone then they still have power over me, my actions and my emotions. What helps me dissipate that anger is trying to understand where they were coming from. Sometimes anger is a powerful emotion and should be used if the person is still a threat to your mental health. But a lot of the times people aren't really that evil, and it's just differences that gets in our way. So I don't waste my time getting worked up on such kind of people. Anyways sending much love and healing!
