How important is ritual in your personal life? Do you do yours straight out of the book or do you create your own?As a humourous sidenote.
I have The Ritual of The Inverted Shirt. When they need my godlike power it takes only turning the kit inside out. That then imparts mojo and reverses momentum in the fixture. It works at least 50% of the time. Just last week that very ritual saw the lads roar back in short order from a two nil deficit to save a point. Even when I forget to do it it works.
In a group I could participate in one for insight into what a group ritual feels like, and expand my worldview, but I would feel ridiculous and push myself through discomfort to do so.
It would be fighting, "why am I wearing a cult garb and pretending to care about this?" There would never be an ability to take it seriously.
And that compounds itself with attempted personal ritual that incorporates anything metaphysical.
I do mind-clearing Zen shit (music, art) but that's more for my health. I love doing sensory deprivation while on mushrooms. That's better than 10 years of psychotherapy in a single trip. That in turn helps (a little) to keep me calm during adversity. It also dismantled my shadow entirely.
But as far as "summon shit rituals" they serve no practical purpose because the direct link to my unconscious is filtered through an unnecessary layer.
Adversity further compounds the non-applicability of superstitious ritual. I actually get angry. I once had a seemingly "no options left" situation and the suggestion to use gnosticism made me scoff and uncomfortable. Like being left wish wishing upon a star. When shit goes down I need to see X -> Y -> Z. I need answers with pragmatic application and an ability to bring about the solution desired. Anything else is not considered.
And "ain't it funny how that money rights your brain".
