After the American troops left the country, Talibans seized power almost immediately and without any resistance. Some criticize Biden's decision to speed up the withdrawal of the US army calling it a failure and comparing it to the defeat in Vietnam. These were Biden's words:

"American troops cannot and should not be fighting in a war and dying in a war that Afghan forces are not willing to fight for themselves,"

What are your thoughts? Is this a shameful defeat or merely putting the end to the unwanted and costly war? And what do you think the aftermath will be? Chaos and violence? Another totalitarian regime? A refugee crisis? The rise of terrorist attacks? Anything else?

I'm gad the USA is out of Afghanistan and I hope it stays out. We should have gotten out as soon as we killed Osama Bin Laden, just as we should have gotten out of Iraq as soon as we captured Sadam Hussein. If these shitheads want to live like it's the 7th century, let them. I'm sure we'll see the Afghani women wearing burkas again by December if not sooner. This is what the dickhead Arabs want. There's not a single Arab leader, be it political, religious, or economic, who will lift a finger for human freedom. Their culture is subhuman. Hell, it's sub-mammalian. No wild mammal would put up with the indignities these cocksuckers inflict on one another with impunity.

What I find amusing is that 20 years of training the Afghan soldiers and giving them equipment went for nothing. They didn't bother to defend their own country. What was that all for?

It was all for nothing, of course. We were training Afghani soldiers to fight for causes they don't believe in. When these dirtbags see women in burkas, they don't see oppression: they see masculine power, and they probably get erections. These cocksucking cockroaches don't even love their own daughters.

Brother in law was a marine medic during Operation Iraqi Freedom. They are required to pick up all dead and wounded, whether it is our own or not. He swears that even their blood has a different smell.

Plus, they don't use toilet paper.

They use their hand.

Yes - Iraq will fall too. Let it.

Incidentally, Iraq is Shiite like Iran, while Afghanistan is Sunni like Saudi Arabia. The Middle East was already devolving into a Sunni versus Shiite powder keg. I expect this to accelerate with the United States out of the picture. I actually wish these assholes would go to war with one another. All we care about over there is the oil, and since war is expensive, oil production will probably continue to the music of explosions and gunfire.

I don't think the government of the United States of America  is bringing its troops back home for the reasons its politicians are talking about,  the real reasons are closer to the economical problems it has than the military problems,  it will bring the troops back for a little while,  then it will scalate the military tensions on the country it already has the blueprints to invade and take that country's resources.  I could be wrong with my appreciation of the American government's military chess game,  but when I used to talk about the same situations the USA had before with some of my military commanders  and generals friends , my appreciations were 99% right.

Well... Talibans promised to behave themselves. They promised freedom of education and work for women, tolerance and general amnesty. Who knows? Perhaps, those dirty scumbags finally became civilized. Maybe. Just maybe, you can teach pigs to sing. Though nobody believes that. I only wonder if there are swarms of refugees again at the EU borders. Will they be greeted with open arms as during the war in Syria? Macron declares he doesn't want them. No more Muslims in France.

I heard from an unreliable source this morning that people were grabbing onto planes as they were full and departing, and then falling to their death to get out of that shithole and away from the Taliban, or so I heard.

I saw the pictures of it. But there's a lot of propaganda out there. And I agree. Your source was unreliable. He may (or may not) embellish a little.

Do you remember when you said "Tom, you are a fucking idiot"? Yeah, she's like that. So that's why I say unreliable.

The fake President, his current fake administration, and the Leftists need to be humiliated more. And so, I am praying to Allah that the Taliban will kill many girls [inshallah] who are liberal and don't submit to strict shariah.

The Taliban also need to scare millions of Muslims into the EU because that will help further galvanize the far-right in Europe.

Afghans don't like girls. They like Dancing Boys:

Satanist since more than a decade

Quote from Anna What I find amusing is that 20 years of training the Afghan soldiers and giving them equipment went for nothing. They didn't bother to defend their own country. What was that all for?
Drugs.
Opium to be exact.
They export the most of it worldwide

But why the drawback?

Alternatives have been found.

Wonder why "The Taliban" are so moderate lately?
They are awash with Western drug money
And hope to still get some more out of it.

The war in the Middle East have been ridicules IMO. We should not force democracy on societies that don't want it. We should rather use resources to build more powerful weapon. If the islamists attacks the West we eliminate them completely with hydrogen bombs. We can destroy the islamic world very easy if we want, so they would not pose a threat towards if they get their caliphates.

I think the USA should not retrieve from Afghanistan at the certain moment. That was a strategic mistake. Don't get fooled, Talibans haven't changed. Who wants to have such allies as those long bearded extremists, I don't know. Truth is they're continuing being fundamentalists, too bad leaving them have a say.

Also I want to add, the majority of the local inhabitants are not friendly to the Taliban regime. Not to mention all of them would better like a democracy, than a fundamentalist state with no freedom for the individual.

Indeed. Two groups that fear Talibans the most are women and LGBT community. Some female journalists have already been barred from work. Talibans also hunt for and start killing people who worked for the US. But on the other hand, why should the US care? The intervention proved too costly, it was unpopular, hence the evacuation.

I do not have words for this. I am sure there is a kind of pogrom being held at the moment we speak in Afghanistan. But, as about the intervention, what I can only say is one should deal with the problem in its root, than waiting coming at your door.

I hope it won't, but I am expecting the problem of fundamentalists to grow since it has gained a foothold.

I want to add, not only women and the LGBT community have reasons to be afraid of the Talibans, but every single individual that wants freedom.

What Dimitri said.

Afghanistan was important for the thousands of poppy fields cultivated and illicitly shipped across seas to be made into black tar heroin. This was then pushed in mass on the streets of America to occupy privatized prisons owned by same mercenary groups (Merryweather, Red Hawk) allowing the drugs to brought over.

Funding goes up for fighting it when troops and private soldiers are paid to let the heroin poppies fulfil their purposes.

And after they killed Bin Laden and practiced helicopter landings there was really no cover left to stay there. But they did in small numbers, and much opium was produced. Now I guess the Taliban can go back to torching the fields not paying bribes to them.

They just learned so much from Central American contra. :D. Yeah, looking at you CIA. Glad you got to collect on all that "Panamanian" money.
