Back in the late 90s I was part of a Usenet community known as alt.devilbunnies, which is now defunct. If you've never heard of Usenet, here's a Complete Guide.

Here's the official web page for Devilbunnies.

I think it could be fun to try to resurrect Devilbunnies as a group on this forum. I've already created the group. I want to talk about it here before I start inviting people.

Here are the Basic Principles:

1. Devilbunnies is supposed to be fun.

2. Devilbunnies is supposed to be silly, wacky, and absurd.

3. Devilbunnies is a creative writing and roleplaying exercise. You create characters and roleplay them. You use them to tell stories and to banter with the other characters.

4. You don't have to create a new account for each character. All you do is start your post like this:

*** Ready the Squirrel ***

This would signify that everything you type in the post is in the voice of Ready the Squirrel.

5. You can create as many characters as you want. They must all fit into the mythos.

6. You must remain in character (whichever one you've chosen at the moment) at all times. You must remain "in mythos" at all times.

7. You can tell any "in mythos" story you want, except you can't tell a story about someone else's character, you can't tell a story that violates the mythos, and you can't tell a story that would sabotage or destroy the mythos or any part of it.

8. You can banter with anyone else's character, and you don't have to be nice to that character. In fact sometimes you would be expected to be very nasty to that character. No one should ever take banter seriously or personally. It's roleplay. If some character is constantly harassing one of yours, you should take that as a compliment. The other person thinks highly enough of your character (and you) to want to engage you and your character in the fine art of banter.

9. Devilbunnies is supposed to be creative. Let your imagination run wild. Just stay in mythos and stay in character.

10. The types of characters are as follows:

Devilbunnies: These appear to be normal bunnies. They can talk but they only talk to Fudds, Mutant Squirrels, and other Devilbunnies. They are cute. They also have razor sharp claws and are extremely dangerous. They seek dominion over humanity. They can have all sorts of personalities. They are, in reality, what the conspiracy theorists fear, but they have the perfect disguise: they're bunnies.

Fudds: These are humans who know about the Devilbunnies and are trying to stop them. They're a paramilitary group. They're considered kooks by everyone except Devilbunnies, Mutant Squirrels, and other Fudds. They've given up trying to tell the world about Devilbunnies because no one believes them. They dress like Elmer Fudd and use fire axes when in battle. They see themselves as humanity's last best hope. They can have all sorts of personalities.

Mutant Squirrels: These were ordinary squirrels before the Devilbunnies mutated them with their evil science. They still look like ordinary squirrels and they still have all the awesome physical capabilities that squirrels have had since time immemorial. But they can talk! However, they only talk to Devilbunnies, Fudds, and other Mutant Squirrels, because they're afraid humanity will trap them and experiment on them. Mutant Squirrels are on the side of the Fudds. They hate the Devilbunnies because the Devilbunnies used them for slave labor. While Mutant Squirrels can have a range of personalities, they should always be a bit ditzy. They should exhibit Attention Deficit Disorder. "Ooh shiny!" They should be hyperactive. They should be reckless.

Anybody interested?

I liked your post better when all it said was Beware, talisman. There was an elegance to it, an economy of key strokes, drawing together at least three distinct trains of thought in a single word. It was masterful.

But you just couldn't leave well enough alone, could you? I really thought I was doing a good job of mentoring you in the fine art of trolling. I can see I still have my work cut out for me. Oh well. It gives me something to do and it keeps the board active while we wait for the next wave of victims.

Sixth thread where talisman deleted his post.

Maybe he's pretending to be a sci-fi character who's gradually being deleted from the time line?

Nah.

Nah.

Next time, use the quote feature. It's a way to make talisman's turds eternal.

Yeah I know, sometimes I worry when I fuck up that someone is gonna quote it before I get a chance to fix it and make an eternal fuck up for all to see, forever.
