I accidently stumbled upon a little internet mystery yesterday while spiraling around youtube. I had found a strange video where some old British man sits in a forest - a beautiful one - and waits around for "pixies."

This guy, whose name is Erwin Sauders, claims to be able to see them, and has captured some of them on video, which he shares on youtube. Over the months, he amassed a large following of fans. And then Erwin stopped making his relaxing videos and vanishes. His fans became worried and searched for him, thus unraveling a mystery.

50% of the people who watch Erwin's videos say that the "pixies" he captures are fake CGI figures. The other 50% are idiots. Who is Erwin Saunders, and why is he making those videos with fake pixies, and why does he want people to believe in them?

Oh... paid by number of views. I didn't know that. You're likely very right.

I was thinking that maybe its Paul Smith's way pf indirectly building an audience, so somebody might hire him for his CGI work.

The actual rates an advertiser pays varies, usually between $0.10 to $0.30 per view, but averages out at $0.18 per view. On average, a YouTube channel can receive $18 per 1,000 ad views, which equates to $3 - $5 per 1000 video views.

Not really that much. But if you're like this Al Gore sounding dude, and have 252 videos all with over 1 million views... That's good living.

Oh, that sucks then. I thought it was more money. I'm too lazy to put in the effort and make such kinds of videos.

That's an interesting channel. I think I'll go watch some of its videos.

Spencer movie. About princess Diane. I've just watched it at the cinema. It was more a psychological movie than a biography. Beautiful, haunting, charming. Maybe I'll write a blog about it when I get home or tomorrow, dunno. I loved it. It was weird and fascinating at the same time.
