A gun is just a tool. When that tool is used to commit mass shootings, you need to ask the question: What the fuck is going on in the heads of the shooters?
A Glock? Really? What a waste of an opportunity. That's like being given the chance to drive a Lamborghini and someone hands you the keys to a Corvette.
A Glock is so weak and the kickback is ridiculous for accuracy. Give them something to have fun with. Something with some weight and that can do some serious damage. My personal favorite is a .357 Smith and Wesson revolver with hollow points. Or these: https://www.knesekguns.com/blog/the-worlds-most-powerful-handguns/
And this is fun. Talk about kickback. ;) Tannerite
The problem with handguns is not ease of access.
The problem is fear;
The basic premise of all discontent.
What happens when people make their own bullets/cartridges? I guess you'd have to make that illegal or something.
Also although mass shootings make the headlines, surely many gun deaths annually are actually caused accidentally, can you screen for idiots? I think you should have the UK method of gun holding: must bein a locked cabinet, secured on two sides to a solid structure with two separate sets of keys to unlock which can only be owned by one person, that would stop kids getting hold of them and massively delays people accessing them to give a bit more thinking time.
@HallowGood question. Honestly, I'm still trying to understand myself. And from a different point of view.
How do you believe an individual gets to the point of wanting to create fear?
@Hallow
What happens when you push someone into a corner? Their reaction, when forced to face fear without an outlet to safety, will determine the person you are dealing with.
~Depression is when you believe the corner is real and permanent. No outlet. Apathy.
~Psychopathy is when you created the corner from your own imagination and not from actual threats. Delusional.
~Self-aware humans remove the corner, whether it is real or imagined. They refuse to accept another person's framework of reality. (A friend of mine took my corner.) :)
We need better mental health care, or more accessible mental health care in the US. I feel like that is more of a solution than disallowing someone's right to self protection.
This is a hilarious, albeit disturbing, collection of clips titled 'idiots with guns.'
One crazy clip includes a man staring down his rifle's double barrel and ends up blowing his hat off. The cray of it all....
I am not specifically speaking from experience, but if I were a terrorist, and I was going to shoot up someplace, it would definitely NOT be a place where most of the people I was shooting at could shoot back.
Now, of course, once they are incapacitated, depending on the situation........
