I was bored and taking a break from writing my hacky music, and this what happened.
A nerdy list.
The most skilled rock bands ever by musician competency according to consensus opinion of average ranking according to; Ranker, which essentially mimics all other lists in aggregate.
Point System
Take average place on list :
•Places 1-100 in; Guitar, Bass, Drums, and Singing are given points for place. (100 for 1st, 1 for 100th)
•Top 100 given 25 point bonus
•Top 10 given 100 point bonus
•No double bonus.
Total divided by 4.
[Example with Fleetwood Mac: Stevie Nicks (3rd), Lindsay Buckinham (70th), John McVie (20th), Mick Fleetwood (33rd). 278 rank points + 175 bonus = 453/4 = 113.25]

Notes: Prince ranked 14th without any support placing; 19th on guitar, 9th on vocals, and 85th on bass. The Beatles made the top 10 without any top 10 ranked members. Every member of Led Zeppelin was top 5 ranked. Cliff Burton Metallica far outranked both Jason Newstead and Robert Trujio incarnations. Only Led Zeppelin, The Who, Black Sabbath, and Rush had every member place top 35 in at least one category. Cream had three key members Eric Clapton, Ginger Baker, and Jack Bruce rank top 10.
