Yep, I was talking about TST. I will be applying for a membership here soon though.

There's a new and interesting development recently, in that TST got approval to erect a Satanic memorial to fallen soldiers, and are now fundraising to build and protect it.  I am almost positive that they expected to get the usual result, merely having some other group's religious monument removed from the public grounds; but instead the city granted them permission for the Satanic monument.

While this is a break from the previous pattern, I think it's far too early to worry about TST getting over zealous and trying to build memorials everywhere.

Even if they eventually do though, that would be a clear indicator of both their success as a force for knocking Xtianity off its perch as the default religion of the US government, and the normalization of Satanism in our culture, which should not bother most of us.  Plus TST explicitly does not deprecate anyone's freedom to follow other versions of Satanism.

To the OP's subject from a few years ago, I'm genuinely curious: have any other Satanic groups done any similar sort of work in the last decade?

To my knowledge no. I know that in the mid 70's the ToS ( Aquino ) and CoS ( LaVey ) were both able to get the USA government to verify Satanism as a real religion.
