Every time we raise the American flag on a US naval ship, we also raise the Union Jack, a red and white striped flag with a serpent on it. "Don't Tread on Me" is written on it.First Navy Jack:
When I declared myself as Satanic, no one should have stepped on me for it (in the USA at least). They should have been more considerate of the equality and freedom that the United States represents for itself, and the rest of the world.
Offended and hurt, perhaps, but not just for me-- for all the refugees and immigrants that come here with their own beliefs. They shouldn't have to be abused by the ignorant masses that blindly fear the serpent. I wish there was an intelligent person in the mass media to educate them...
Also, kindly don't step on me just because you see that I am gentle and vulnerable. #Rattle
Prior to 2002:
The new "First NavyJack" is an adaption of The Gadsden Flag, The yellow/black coiled snake colloquially associated with the USMC.
The meaning is American History 101.
"Don't tread on me" loosely translates as: "Don't fuck with me and I won't fuck with you, but if you do. . ."
It was a rebranding effort to be rolled out in unison with Opperation Flight of Icarus. The once coiled snake is now in attack mode.
I'm done here for now, unless anyone has a Union Jack comment. #DTOM
You mean that of the United Kingdom?
That has little to do with the Naval Jack.
