That — assigning, giving, and deriving meaning — is the signal test of intelligence. Human beings are failing spectacularly it today. The world is engulfed in stupid, which is a way to say: nothing means anything, precisely because the only kind of power we desire anymore is the power to take meaning away from things, not give meaning to them.
I am truly curious.. and perhaps this person is wrong..? taking away meaning from everything? hmm. what purpose does it serve us?

He should now go take a trip around the world and pour out his bleeding heart about how children in Dhaka shit in the river while selfish western society has the attention span of an Instagram post.
His problem isn't stupidity. It's viral mentality and information connectivity. It's adaptation. Mr. More-Evolved-Than-You got his rant out to the world instantly using the same same channels that spread what he criticizes.
He doesn't have a hook. Something that prompts a "like & share" in the average reader. It's all about demographics and knowing how to "New York Post" your shit up. That plays in Peoria. Is it any wonder a reality TV personality is president?
From what else he has written he is in the finance sector. I am guessing accountant, analyst, or some other non-commissioned wall street job.
This was likely helped along by Trumps election. He used him for the picture after all. Economists are usually critical of plans like Trump's (for damn good reason). That he is so "sky is falling" over this says he is no different with sensationalism.
