So, I was sitting here thinking, I'm rapidly approaching that one day year when I step closer to death... My birthday. I started thinking of past birthdays and all of their traditions. And I was wondering, how do you celebrate? Do you have a tradition? Do you do something different every year? Is your birthday a holy day? Or do you think it's just a narcissistic celebration? Do you do anything satanicly inspired or do you celebrate like everyone else? Do you not celebrate at all?

That depends. This year I spent my birthday at work. It was Monday, April 30th. If I'm at work, I postpone the celebration. I invited my friend for a dinner tomorrow. My aunt celebrates her birthday on the same day as me and she invited me and the rest of her family last Sunday.

I can't say this day is somehow special for me. I invite my friend because I'm often her guest. I visit my aunt because she's my family. As far as having fun goes, I don't think I need a special day for it. For example, I have a holiday in the mid May, when other people are working and stupid children are at school. I'm going to the seaside and there is nothing worse than a crowded beach with little screaming fuckers running around and parents yelling at them.

Well, happy belated birthday! It is too bad you have to work on your birthday. I make it a point to always make sure I am off that day. But, there have been times when I was unable to get that day off, so I had to postpone it. I like your idea of going to the seaside...especially without the screaming brats running around. Thank you for sharing!

You're welcome. Yes, I could take a day off but I didn't feel the need as I had the next three days free. I don't work from 9 to 5 but according to a monthly schedule.

Oooh, I see. Well, that's understandable then.

Also called Wednesday, or whatever day it falls on. It is one of those, "Oh yeah, that is today" type things. Ideally anyway. There's always someone that thinks everyone should enjoy their birthday, and tries shit anyway. Like it is some reverse psychology where you're saying "don't celebrate it" really means "oh please, come make this day important!"

So narcissism.

Yeah, I am as predictable as the people you see in the parking lot of a 99 cent store... except for that one time.  Fucking doppelgangers.

To me it's like every other mundane day. Hell there have been times I did not even realize it was my birthday until someone remarked as such.

But I tend to revel over the joys of vital existence regularly throught the year. Or maybe I'm an alcoholic and a manic adrenalin junkie,,,,, there is that possibility.

Lol...I understand. I like your view of revelling over the joys of vital existence throughout the year. Does that help keep you positive?

I like bithdays parties,  but I don't celebrate mine; the reason, well....I don't even remember when my birthday is,  on my birth certificate is written that I was born on a Wednesday January  the 16th, but I grew up in a monastery were they never celebrated birhdays, then I reunited with my family and they were so poor that they didn't have enough money to celebrate, though my mother believed that the birthday of someone was the most important day of her-his life....I had a lot of issues in my life that never permitted me to celebrate my birthday,  but I still consider it the best day of the year instead of celebrating the nativity of another. Happy birthday Anna, and celebrate Diane.
