We, as the minds of our bodies, and the ones who control most of it's voluntary action, tend to think that we are the goal. That the main purpose of our body's life is to serve us, and that our emotions (and the things they are derived from) are the only inherent value to living that there is.

But I find this to be untrue. We are just a part of the body, (likely) there due to a need to move/travel, serving another goal. Our emotions are just incentives and deterrents to aid the survival of the body and the social group (other bodies). I don't claim to know what exactly we are "serving" or why, but it appears that we are. I can speculate that some part of our genes contains an intrinsic need for survival/reproduction, but it is possible that it goes deeper than that (i.e, there is a bigger reason for survival) and I do not currently know enough to confirm any of the possibilities, nor do I want to list all of them here at the risk of this post turning into a confusing compilation of ideas.

Be sure to keep in mind that I'm speaking of the entire body. When I say "emotions are not the reason survival is worthwhile" I am not denying that this is true for the mind.

Do you agree that the mind is a means to an end? If so, what end?...Or maybe, the means to a perpetual "striving"?

*Facepalm*

Our genes obviously contain a need (or, instructions for a need) for survival. I suppose the question is why, or if there is a reason at all.

I personally believe in quantum physics. It has the power to change our view of death, life, time and space. It's a complicated topic and I'm not a physicist to understand everything about it, but  one of the basics in quantum physics is: everything that has merged cannot be separated. We are the product of a merger, the egg cell and sperm merge to one (existence). This means that inside me I also have the fusion of all my parents and grandparents etc. thus, my children are my future.
Hum, nothing's new here… yet ... even if we think our children are surviving, we don't imagine that we survive. It is believed that certain characteristics survive, but not us.

A healing therapy exists under the name of Yuki, based on the practice of touch. A "presence" touch where hands transmit the message as much as possible regarding : Here and now you can be who you are. then, make you walk some setps, and tell you, there are all your parents and grandparents watching through your eyes.

Where is this going now, being the product of x parents, there is a future, blablabla...

If I can consciously back in these fusions since I have all this shit inside me somewhere, it means I have the power to go back in time. Therefore, I also have the power to go in the future. And logic says, in these cases then there is no past and there is no future, there is just that "I can walk around", and reality is where I put my conscious or my human experience. Which means that I am the creator of my reality. And separations that I imagine are my own construction.

A change in our conscious leads to a different expression of its reality. The conscious of our thoughts with our creative spirit will make its reality a nightmare or a paradise...

I like your view Suki.  In my opinion yes something like quantum physics exists  like a magnet you can call it --force , supreme being, Satan, God, Jesus, Reiki therapy, wicca, mindpower, trance, healing, curse... It is the same thing the same "power" and the same hands transmitted energy. It is the same thing used in different religions.

The purpose of the mind, us, our total sense of reality and ourselves in it, is to adapt stone-age primal instincts in a useful way for the environment a person finds themselves in. This is still mostly a random imprinting kind of process. Only when you start to look at how habits focus instinct and begin to engineer new ones consciously that a mind is anything more than a stimulus-state-response mechanism.
